Benefits of Blast-Resistant Modules
Enhanced Safety
Blast-resistant modular buildings protect personnel and equipment from the impact of explosions and blast waves, reducing liability and enhancing safety in high-risk industries. The modules are also bulletproof and fire-resistant. Visit our online store to see our industrial storage products.
Durability
The buildings are constructed from bulletproof materials to withstand the hazards of a high-risk environment, ensuring that the building remains functional and safe over its lifespan. The blast-resistant modules withstand blast zone overpressure of 5 psi to 20 psi. They can withstand various forms of significant impacts, such as bullets, explosions, fires, break-ins, container bursts, and blasts of vapor.
The blast-resistant modular buildings meet the following industry standards:
- Meet ballistic limits under MIL-STD-622F and MIL-P-46593A military standards
- Compliant with OSHA 1910.307 Explosion Resistant Structures guidelines in Class Divisions 1 and 2, Groups A, B, C, D, E, F, G
- FSP and V-50 testing
Speed of Construction
Modular construction allows for faster construction times than traditional brick-and-mortar construction, with a lead time of as little as three to four weeks. The prefabricated buildings come pre-wired, reducing construction time and minimizing disruptions to operations.
Customization
Blast-resistant modular buildings meet a facility’s specific needs to provide maximum protection against potential hazards. Choose from custom paneling, flooring systems, and fixtures. You can also design your custom blast-resistant buildings to your hazard rating specification. Buildings can be relocated, moved around your worksite, and modified as needed.
Cost Effectiveness
When designing a blast-resistant building, modular construction affords significant cost savings compared to traditional construction. The faster construction times and reduced labor costs associated with modular construction result in overall cost savings without sacrificing quality.
Blast-Resistant Module Features and Specifications
Blast-resistant structures weigh around 1200 to 1500 lbs., depending on the size, and have a maximum height of between 7 and 10 ft. Standard building lengths are between 8′ to 40′ with widths between 8′ to 12′.
Standard buildings ship with heavy-duty vinyl wall covering, electrical outlets, lighting, and 1/8″ industrial floor tiles.
Standard options:
- Acoustical accordion doors
- Blast-resistant cabinets
- Electrical components, plumbing, and HVAC systems
- Exhaust fans
- Hydraulic door closers
- Sprinklers
- Steel doors
Finishes:
- Aluminum
- Fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP)
- Painted steel
- PVC
- Vinyl
Custom design options include wiring data and communication, gas detection, and multi-module complexes. The exterior finishes include aluminum, fiberglass reinforced plastic, painted steel, PVC, and vinyl.
Applications for Blast-Resistant Modular Buildings

Industrial Testimonials
“Working with Southwest Solutions including Matt, Susan, and especially Brad was great. They provide amazing customer service. Brad and the install team were especially great. Very professional, easy to work with, and did the work quickly and very well with very little input from us. If we need help with carousel storage moves, parts, or new equipment we will start with Southwest Solutions. ”
“The team at Southwest Solutions were nothing short of fantastic. First meeting with Craig, I received a customized design, in person, based on my office needs while still maintaining an efficient layout and being cost effective. Craig explained everything clearly, allowing me to understand that as modular mill-work, I would be able to move it if I ever changed offices, but without the added sales pressure to immediately make a decision. Once I had decided, I worked with Chris who assisted in picking out the finishes and scheduling the delivery and installation. The professionalism of Craig and Chris spoke volumes and I would highly recommend anyone looking to transform or fit-out an office to contact Southwest Solutions.”
“I want to let you know that we all really appreciated your team mentality, professionalism and dedication shown on this project. It was a pleasure working with you and your office and we look forward to many more. Please pass along my gratitude to everyone who worked on this project. Thanks! ”
“I just want to take a minute to let you know how good of a job your install crew did yesterday. They were quick, fast, courteous and very consensus during the install. They were awesome to say the least. Being in the service business ourselves, we know that you can never hear the words “Good Job” often enough. Please pass this along to your crew.”
